What are Porcelain Veneers & Laminates?
Veneers or Laminates are shell like wafer thin covers that attach to the front of your teeth. As a result they are perfect to hide gaps, fix chipped off teeth or any discolourations.
They are as thin as 0.3 to 0.5 mm like contact lenses making them look and feel completely natural when done by a highly trained and educated dentist.
There are 2 types of Veneers:
- Direct : These are nothing but composite veneers, also commonly referred to as composites. For minor discolorations that need to be fixed in a single sitting, they are the perfect treatment option. They involve minimum alteration of your natural teeth and conceal all the imperfections. They are done using cosmetic laser fillings and give you an instant beautiful smile
- Indirect : Porcelain Veneers are referred to as Indirect Veneers. These are used to change the shape, color & symmetry of your teeth. In other words, they completely TRANSFORM YOUR SMILES. The most natural material is used that replicates the tooth enamel is porcelain. Thus giving a more long lasting and natural look compared to a composite or direct veneer. Thanks to the advancement in technology, today we have porcelain veneers which are stronger, super thin and translucent like natural teeth. We at Divine Smiles Dental Clinic use eMax, Empress & Feldspathic systems which are the most superior veneers available in the world today.
